ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH INSURERS TO PROVIDE INSURANCE HELP FOR VOLUNTARY AND CHARITABLE GROUPS
The ABI (Association of British Insurers) is running an Action Day on 11 July to help volunteer and charitable groups better appreciate the importance of good risk management. The move comes following rises in the cost of liability insurance, which has impacted on many groups.
The Action Day will be held at Loughborough University. It is designed to give groups and individuals a comprehensive understanding of current issues affecting the cost and availability of insurance cover and the steps that can be taken, such as good risk management, to improve access to insurance protection.
Speakers will come from insurance companies, insurance brokers and charities. The keynote speaker will be a Government minister.
John Parker, ABI’s Head of General Insurance, said:
“ Understanding the risks they face, and how to reduce them, has never been more important for the voluntary and charitable sector. This action day aims to enhance better understanding of risk management among voluntary and charity groups, as well as improving insurers’ understanding of the voluntary sector.”
