If you have been mis-sold something or wish to complain about
any lender or credit advisor their are no formal procedures.
However you can get in touch with your local trading standards
office. If however the credit card or loan is from a bank
or building society then they are bound by the banking
code.
The Consumer Credit Act 1974 contains more information
and rights about consumer credit.

Check that the credit card or loan provider is
registered with the financial services authority (FSA).
If they are then they should be bound by there terms and conditions.
insurance
If you have an insurance complaint you can get
in touch with the Association of British Insurers (ABI), most
UK companies are registered with them and follow their codes
of conduct.
However the general insurance standards council
are a new organisation looking to gradually take over as the
first point of contact for complaints. If you wish to take
your complaint even further you can contact the insurance
ombudsman bureau.
