| Pet insurance
If you've ever had to take your
pet to the vets you'll know how expensive it can be. When
i was a child I remember my dog falling very ill with a serious
back problem. I also remember the pressure group my brothers
and i formed to force my parents into spending the family
holiday money on a operation to save our beloved Bazil.

Our pets are often our best friends
and family members but many of us still leave them uninsured
which can end up leading to a massive vets bill. Pet insurance
plans start from about £6 a month. That £6 a month
would have saved my parents a few thousand on their vet bills
and maybe we'd of been able to have that family holiday.
Pet insurance policies will generally
cover your pet in the event of sickness, an accident, and
can help with advertising & reward costs if your pet is
lost or stolen. Levels of cover vary but most plans should
offer the following categories of cover.
- Vet Fees
- Death Benefit
- Accidental Damage
- Theft/Straying
- Advertising/Reward
- Third Party Liability
- Boarding Fees
- Holiday Cancellation
There are often exclusions on policies so be
sure to check the small print for for things not covered.
Many policies will not cover you for any condition that might
have started before the policy began, flee control, vaccinations
and castrations. There are also a number of dogs that most
pet insurance companies won't insure. For example; any dog
registered under the dangerous dogs act, guard dogs, racing
dogs or any other working dogs.
